VERIFY will contribute to the COP26 in Glasgow, including contributions to two shared side events under the EU pavillon (1st November), and a shared poster with the CoCO2 projet during the Earth Information Day organised by the UNFCCC (3rd November).
VERIFY project will contribute actively to the COP26 in Glasgow during the first week of November 2021 through several events.

1) Shared side event under the EU pavillon: « Towards an emission neutral society: challenges and opportunities »
When: COP26_1.O.1 ; Monday 1st November from 10H00 to 11H00 CEST
Event objective: The projects discuss challenges and opportunities on the way to an emission neutral society. These include the implications of the EU recovery funds on emissions and employment, social and resource implications of a fair renewable energy transition, transformative mitigation measures on the supply and demand side, and the need for independent verification of country emissions accounts.
VERIFY contribution: Highlight the potential of observation-based approaches to estimate green house gaz fluxes at national scale to complement the national inventory estimates and provide key results obtained so far for Europe (EU27+UK).
Other contributors: ParisReinforce, LOCOMOTION and NAVIGATE H2020 European projects.
2) Contribution to the EU side event: « Earth Observation for Climate Action: Mitigation, REDD+, and the Global Stocktake »
