This deliverable presents the outcome of the international workshop “Advancing Monitoring of GHG for AFOLU with EO: Synergies between systematic observations and accounting”, organized by Mark Dowell and Greet Janssens-Maenhout. It highlights the shared interest in and even need for observation-based information and a comprehensive GHG system that reconciles bottom-up (BU) and top-down (TD) results for the most uncertain sector of Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use. It links with international initiatives such as RECCAP for the Global Stock Take exercise, the Global Carbon Project, the CEOS GHG Working Group, the Copernicus CO2 monitoring initiative.
